Tohu Harris
The New Zealand international hasn’t missed a minute of action for his side this year, and has improved his average from the low 40s to the high 50s since spending time at Lock from Round 3.
Whilst he’s been a fringe keeper in previous years playing on an edge, the minutes in the middle make him a very interesting prospect for Fantasy coaches.
In his last three games, Harris has averaged over 45 tackles and 200 run metres.
To put that into perspective, Harris has now out-tackled elite middles such as Jake Trbojevic and Payne Haas.
Currently owned by just 1.5% of coaches, Harris firms as a nice pod for those who are looking for an alternative to Yeo or Crichton.
The danger for Harris is that fact that his NRL Fantasy relevancy this year is predicated on his time spent in the middle, and the impending return of Jazz Tevaga certainly poses a threat.
In encouraging news, even with Blair and Burr back into the side for Round 5; Harris still spent time in the middle and was very efficient in defence.
With a break even of 28 ahead of Round 6, those willing to bet on him retaining that edge-middle rotation long-term should be moving this week.
Latrell Mitchell
An average of 68.5 points over his last two games and a $119k discount has caught the attention of a number of coaches looking to replace the likes of Capewell and Staggs this week.
Mitchell has been an out-and-out keeper in the Centres in previous years, however he was unable to crack the 15-point barrier in his first two starts at Fullback for the Bunnies.
During this time there were plenty of calls to shift Mitchell back to Centre, but Bennett stuck to his guns and persisted with the talented outside back.
Since then, Mitchell has repaid the faith and produced 21 tackle busts and 4 try assists in the last fortnight alone; putting his hand up as the man to solve our NRL Fantasy woes at CTR.
Mitchell has lost the GK duties which is certainly an underrated base stat among Fantasy coaches, however new owners will be hopeful the additional opportunities in possession from Fullback will off-set these lost points over the longer term.
It’s also important to note that he is a very different Fantasy asset to the likes of Tedesco and RTS. Rather than racking up the run metres, Mitchell relies on explosive moments throughout the game and this does traditionally lead to less consistent scoring.
If you’re happy to accept some fluctuation, the Taree junior has well and truly bottomed out this week, and he looks like a hand pickup.
Adam Doueihi
After another strong 45-point performance against tough opposition in Round 5, the Strathfield Raiders junior has landed himself on our watchlist as a cheaper alternative to Mitchell.
Much like Mitchell, Douehi’s price point has remained friendly due to a slow start to the year; where he managed an average of just 25 points across Rounds 1 and 2 at Centre.
Since then, the Lebanon international has been shifted to Fullback and has nearly doubled his Fantasy output with 5 tackle busts and over 200 running metres per game through Rounds 3 to 5.
The danger for Douehi comes via his 9 games in the fullback position last year for an average of just 30 points.
If you’re picking up Douehi this week; you’re banking on his improved output at his new club continuing throughout the season.
With a break even of 13 and a friendly fixture against a depleted Cowboys side; this could be the week to jump on.
Reece Robson
The promising young hooker played the full 80 minutes in Round 5 for 61 NRL Fantasy points on the back of his workrate in defence.
With Reuben Cotter being dropped from the interchange this week – Robson has become even more enticing ahead of Round 6.
The Murwillumbah Colts junior has shown over the past 12 months that he is a solid Fantasy player; reflected by a strong PPM of point 8.1.
Unfortunately for Robson, the issue has simply been his minutes with the majority of his starts coming from the interchange.
It was always going to be a difficult task to secure big minutes at the Dragons with McInnes leading the way at Hooker, but he’s taken his opportunities at the Cowboys and seemingly secured the starting role over veteran Jake Granville.
The potential for losing minutes to Granville and Cotter remains the main danger, but it looks like it’s his position to lose.
With a sub $600k price tag and a break even of 17 – Robson looks well placed to make some serious cash over the coming weeks, and best case, become a top 17 scorer.
Raymond Faitala-Mariner
With Stimson set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and the termination of CHN’s contract, Mariner looks set to benefit in a big way.
Owned by just 0.3% of coaches – RFM is the definition of a POD.
We saw the Fantasy potential of the Samoan international in 2018 when he ended the season with a high 40’s average and over $230k in price rises.
A series of injuries limiting this starts and a long run of games starting from the interchange have reset his price, and he now looks well-placed to regain this value whilst providing a handy scoring option in the process.
The risk with Mariner comes via for aforementioned injury history and the competition for starting roles in the forwards for the Blue and White.
However, priced at just $455k – Mariner could be some $150k plus undervalued and provide a springboard to a keeper down the track.
