Tyrone Peachey

Peachey is coming off an impressive performance against the Roosters in Round 12 where he netted 55 points in 47 minutes.

The Wellington Cowboys is now making a habit of pushing keeper-like score at CTR, with a 5-game average just shy of 50.

Whilst he does start from the interchange, he is used as a middle forward which ensures he gets through much more defence than a genuine Centre.

He’s also proven to be effective in finding tired forwards in the middle – evidenced by 57 points in tackle breaks alone over this past three games.

Adding to his appeal is his 4.4% ownership, and the fact that Holbrook has been vocal about his plans to progressively build Peachey’s minutes in a recent press conference.

The danger in recruiting someone like Peachey is his versatility. If the Titans were to lose an outside back early in the game, Peachey would likely be the man to fill that void and take a significant hit to his Fantasy relevancy as a result.

With Bradman Best being one of the most popular trade-outs this week, Peachey simply has to be considered – and those willing to bet on him staying in the middle rotation will need to move this week with a break even of 16 ahead of Round 13.

Kotoni Staggs

Staggs wasted no time getting the attention of Fantasy coaches on return from injury – with a barnstorming 88 point performance against the Sharks.

A performance that included 2 tries, 8 tackle busts and 3 goals.

With Isaako now out of the 17, Staggs also looks to have secured the goal-kicking duties – which provides a significant boost to his Fantasy stocks and places him firmly on the radar of coaches looking to offload Best.

The main dangers for Staggs comes via the nature of his recent injuries.

We’ve seen time and time again that hamstrings can be very difficult to manage and often have multiple re-occurrences. Adding to this, in the two lone performances in 2020 that Staggs hasn’t scored a try – the explosive Centre has failed to score above 30.

With that said, the goal kicking duties may ease the concern of his base stats when he doesn’t manage to cross the line, and we can understand why coaches are keen to jump on this week in light of his low break even.

Mitch Barnett

Barnett averages 55 points across his last three games, and has proven to be very effective with extended minutes for his side – evidenced by an impressive 59 tackle performance against the Bulldogs in Round 11.

The Wingham Tigers junior is owned by just 0.7% of coaches and firms as one of the best POD buys this week.

At $566k, Barnett could be over $150k undervalued if he’s able to consistently deliver scores in the low 50s.

Despite his impressive return from injury, he certainly doesn’t come without risk.

In his last two games where he was required to play for more than 70 minutes – there were multiple key injuries in the Knights pack, which almost certainly led to more minutes for the former Raider.

With that said, the 2019 ‘Knights Player of the Year’ will be hard to ignore for those coaches looking to pick up a potential 50+ scorer under $600k.

David Fifita

Fifita looks set to make his much-anticipated return from injury this week as his side looks to turn their season around against the Bunnies on Friday night.

A popular option in the pre-season, the 20-year old did not disappoint over the opening rounds – boasting a season average of 67 Fantasy points.

After starting the year with a heavy discount, Fifita is now available at $754k – which could have him some $150k (plus) undervalued if he is able to replicate this early form.

Whilst he enters Round 13 with a relatively high ownership of 13.7%, it’s fair to assume that many of these teams would be inactive – and he is more of a pod than he appears on paper.

There’s always an element of risk in bringing in a player after a long lay-off, and he’ll certainly have some work to do to get his fitness up to scratch – however, it’s widely known that he is one of the most naturally gifted athletes in the game, and we wouldn’t put it past him to exceed his break even of 48 in his first game in months.

For those with an extra trade up their sleeve, we’d suggest watching Fifita very closely this week with a view to jumping on ahead of Round 14 if he shows no signs of slowing down.
